Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars
A NEW WEAPON. A VERY OLD DIVISION FIGHT.
We are not going to pretend a 1–4 record can be erased by one transaction. Houston earned its first win by beating Tennessee 26–3, but Jacksonville has opened 4–1, already showed it can close a tight game against Philadelphia and currently controls this race. That is the reality when the Texans and Jaguars meet at Wembley: one team has to prove a turnaround is real, while the other has to protect everything it has built.
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s arrival in Houston changes the ceiling of this matchup immediately. Reunited with C.J. Stroud after their Ohio State days, he gives the quarterback a different kind of boundary target. But we want to see how quickly their timing translates against an opponent that knows the division. On the other side, the Jaguars' offensive-line situation puts pressure on Trevor Lawrence to play on schedule against Will Anderson Jr. and Houston's front.
The Texans will be without David Montgomery, Tank Dell and Jalen Pitre. That makes the details more important, not less: can Houston find enough running-game balance without Montgomery, cover for Pitre defensively and get meaningful explosive plays without asking Harrison to fix five weeks of offensive problems in one morning?
