THE WEEK 5 SNAPSHOT
WHAT THE TABLE ACTUALLY SAYS
We never treat a September power ranking as a current standings report. Through Monday’s Bills–Rams overtime final, the NFC has two undefeated clubs while Kansas City retains an unbeaten 4–0 record after a bye. The AFC North remains crowded behind Baltimore. In the NFC East, the Giants and Commanders both have ties on their records after 27–27. This page is a fixed final Week 5 snapshot; records will change once Week 6 games begin.

THE 4DK CONTEXT
THE RACE IS ONLY STARTING.
The 49ers have been the most complete early NFC team, but the schedule is about to test their health. The Vikings’ 5–0 start has been built on defensive volatility and timely contributions; their record deserves full respect. Kansas City’s 4–0 mark and pass-run balance keep the Chiefs among the conference favorites, while Jacksonville is proving its 4–1 start deserves more than a footnote.
At the other extreme, three 0–5 teams are staring at serious questions about health and their offensive identity. The standings capture outcomes; our power rankings and award watches are separate opinions about the strength of teams and individuals.
