THE FULL SLATE
FOUR GAMES. FOUR TAKEAWAYS.
The regular season version will run every night: full scores, what mattered, stats and official highlight links.
BROOKLYN @ CHARLOTTE
Brooklyn Looks Ready To Compete.
124–90
This was the cleanest team performance of the night. Brooklyn shot 55 percent from the field, knocked down 20 threes and got immediate production from the new veteran core. Michael Porter Jr. scored 16 in 17 minutes and Julius Randle added 13 without forcing the game. Preseason or not, the spacing and scoring options looked organized.
MPJ 16 PTS • 5 REB • RANDLE 13 PTS • NETS 20 MADE 3s

NEW ORLEANS @ OKLAHOMA CITY
The Pelicans Flipped The Whole Game.
116–110
Oklahoma City led by as many as 24, but New Orleans completely changed the game after halftime. The Pelicans scored 64 points in the second half, got 75 bench points and forced the Thunder into 22 turnovers. Zion and Trey Murphy were both limited to 11 points, which makes the comeback more interesting — the deeper rotation won this one.
NOP 75 BENCH PTS • OKC 22 TURNOVERS • BENNETT STIRTZ 15 PTS, 5 REB, 6 AST • ADAY MARA 12 PTS, 9 REB, 3 BLK

DENVER @ UTAH
Peterson Finally Let It Go.
117–106
Denver won the game, but the story we care about is Darryn Peterson. After a quiet debut, he scored a game-high 23 on 10-of-18 shooting with three rebounds and three assists. Utah needs this season to tell us what Peterson, Keyonte George and Ace Bailey can become together. Nights like this are why the rookie board is going to move constantly.
PETERSON 23 PTS • 3 REB • 3 AST • AARON GORDON 18 PTS • 5 REB

LAKERS @ WARRIORS
Golden State’s Structure Was The Difference.
124–98
The Lakers were short-handed, so the final score is not something to overreact to. What mattered was how comfortable Golden State looked early. Steph Curry scored 16 in 14 minutes, Draymond Green handed out eight assists, Brandin Podziemski scored 16 and Yaxel Lendeborg led the team with 17 and nine boards. The veteran structure made the rookie’s job easier — and he still played aggressively enough to stand out.
LENDEBORG 17 PTS • 9 REB • CURRY 16 PTS • 5 AST • PODZIEMSKI 16 PTS • DRAYMOND 8 AST
